Year 2's Trip to Manor Heath
The children investigated different trees in the park, classifying them by the shape of the leaves. We found oak, elder and ash plus many more. We went into the jungle house and looked at different plants and spoke about how many different species we have in England. We also saw terrapin's, quails and butterflies. The children also created Andy Goldsworthy style natural art focusing on colour and shape. They had time to enjoy themselves playing in the playground.
The Children have really enjoyed exploring what may wriggle and crawl. They wrote their own instructions for the adults to follow and were able to make their very own wormery to take home and fill with worms. It was a great afternoon
The children went on a trip to Denso Marston Nature Reserve, the children enjoyed some pond dipping and looking for pond bugs. Ranger Steve took the children on a nature trail through the woods looking for animals in their natural environment. The children found insects, mice, voles, frogs and newts.
